Have you ever wondered what a typical hour of public transportation in Dubai looks like?
Take a look at this map I created, which showcases the movements of buses, metro trains, and trams during a typical weekday.
-Yellow points represent buses,
-Green points represent the green metro line,
-Red points represent the red metro line,
- Blue points represent the trams.
Dubai is home to :
- 280,884 Bus stops (approx )
- 47 Metro stations ( Red and Green Lines)
- 11 Tram station
Luckily, Dubai is rich with open-source data for transportation, I created this map below using open sources data from DubaiPulse, the data used:
1) GTFS (https://lnkd.in/dyd3xSpn).
2) Buses, Metro, and Tram Stops (https://lnkd.in/dyd3xSpn).
3) Bus, Metro, and Tram Lines (https://lnkd.in/dyd3xSpn).
Steps: ( the Main steps):
Tools: - Python (GTFS library: to extract the stop frequency ) - QGIS (to create the map )
